Research and policy discussions have tended to overlook recreational homes and their effects on local communities. The growth of recreational housing in Wisconsin and Minnesota provides important community development issues and opportunities.
Focus group interviews were held as a means of identifying issues and developing hypotheses. Recreational homeowners, local policymakers, local business owners, and local residents of Forest County, Wisconsin participated in the surveys (34 pages; 1996).
