The Extent of Tile Drainage in Wisconsin
Author(s) Callie L. Herron, Matthew D. Ruark.
Artificial tile drainage is the most extensive soil and water management activity in midwestern agriculture. However, the true extent of tile drainage in the United States is largely unknown, in part because available estimates are inconsistent and, in some cases, have significant limitations. This publication offers an overview of US tile drainage estimates since 1987 along with Wisconsin-specific data (4 pages; 2017).
